Maryam & Umer's Traditional Wedding-
When Maryam and Umer decided to tie the knot, they knew they wanted to pay homage to their Indian heritage. Despite being in the United States, they made sure to incorporate every element of a traditional Indian wedding, from the vibrant colors to the intricate ceremonies. Maryam and Umer's wedding was nothing short of a stunning celebration of love, culture, and family that left a lasting impression on everyone who attended.
The festivities began with the Mehndi ceremony, where the bride and female members of the family had intricate henna designs applied to their hands and feet. Maryam looked stunning in her exquisite bridal couture adorned with gold embellishments and intricate embroidery - a traditional red and gold lehenga choli. Meanwhile, Umer wore a sherwani in matching colors.
The night of the Sangeet ceremony was filled with music, dance, and performances. Both families came together to celebrate the couple's union, with traditional dances by the bride and groom's families, along with Bollywood songs and games. The joyful atmosphere was infectious, and everyone had a great time.
The wedding ceremony took place the following day, with the couple exchanging vows amidst their loved ones. As per Indian tradition, the mandap or canopy was decorated with flowers and draped in rich fabrics. The couple took seven vows, or Saptapadi, around a sacred fire, symbolizing their promises to each other. Together, they also performed the Kanyadaan ritual, where the bride's father gave his daughter away to the groom.
After the ceremony, the reception was a grand affair, with a delectable spread of Indian cuisine and desserts. The dance floor was always full, with the couple cutting their wedding cake and taking countless photographs to capture the memories of this special day. The reception was also an ideal occasion to showcase Maryam's stunning bridal jewelry, which included a maang tikka, necklace, earrings, and haath phool.
